e 4th Annual Hajj Awards 2019 hosted by the UK’s multi-award winning charity CBHUK (The Council of British Hajjis) was celebrated in London at the famous InterContinental Park Lane London on 5th November 2019 with winners from a diverse range of categories picking up the top accolade for the best in Hajj & Umrah services delivered to British pilgrims.

Event organiser Rosy-Shamim Abdullah from CBHUK (the Council of British Hajjis) said:

“It’s  an absolute pleasure to host the 4th Annual Hajj Awards in London and welcome guests from around the world to join us at this prestigious event which celebrates success and rewards excellence in the Hajj & Umrah sector and gives recognition to companies who go above and beyond to deliver services to British pilgrims.  The awards have set a high standard within the industry which is now raising its game to innovate and deliver exceptional services which ultimately benefits pilgrims and gives them a positive memorable Hajj & Umrah experience in line with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 to increase pilgrim numbers”.

The winners are selected through an accumulation of a public vote and by a judging panel.  Competition for the awards was fierce this year, with over 17,000 public votes casts, the Hajj Awards was contested by leading global brands and national licensed companies.

Saudia, the national carrier for Saudi Arabia won Best Hajj Airline carrier for the 4th consecutive year and Oman Air picked up Best Umrah Airline Carrier.

Fairmont Makkah won the Best Luxury Hotel Makkah Award and Pullman Zam Zam won the Best Hotel Madinah Award.

Al Hidaayah Travel won Best VIP & Luxury Hajj company award for the 2nd year running and Dome Tours International scooped up 2 awards on the night winning Best UK Hajj Tour Operator for the 3rd consecutive year and for the Best Media Campaign in Hajj & Umrah.  The best UK Umrah company was won by Hasan Haj Travel and a new category recognising the Best UK Hajj Tour Operator in the Economy category was won by Sadat Travel.  The trailblazer award went to Al Hijaz Tours & Travels Ltd.  Best Airline Consolidator Award went to Skylord Travel.

The British Consulate-Jeddah and Civil Aviation Authority won the Public Sector Awards with Tour De Hajj winning the 3rd sector awards.

Best Hotel Makkah went to Mövenpick Hotel Makkah, Best Luxury Hotel Madinah went to Oberoi and Best Saudi Umrah company was won by Saudi Taskeen.

Innovation in Hajj & Umrah was won by the Hajj Research Centre from the Umm Al Qura University in Makkah and the Best Technology award went to the Saudi Ministry of Hajj & Umrah.

A special recognition award for global impact went to ACCOR Middle East & Africa.
